What is truth?

“You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”” (John 8:32 HCSB)

So speaks Jesus, but what is truth?

Bob Utley captures the answer to this question the best:

“The truth”—This is the key concept of the context. This term has two connotations: (1) trustworthiness or (2) truth versus falsehood. Both connotations are true of the life and ministry of Jesus. He is both the content and goal of the gospel. Truth is primarily a person!

The truth?  It is what Jesus speaks.

The truth?  It is who Jesus is.

“Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” (John 14:6 HCSB)
